Was great while it lasted. Used a few times so we could prepare meals on special occasions. Quality ingredients, easy to follow instructions, and competitively priced. No issues at all with the meals or service but unfortunately it has been offline for many months so I doubt it is coming back. Will have to try other similar services.


Impressed!

Having tried another well known menu delivery service and not being overly impressed I thought I'd give the Waitrose one a go- the 50% off helped with the convincing. I was very impressed with both the ease of the recipes and the ingredients supplied. Everything I needed was provided and I have to say the food was delicious. I will definitely be using this service again(when it is back up and running!) as it was so much easier than shopping after work and seemingly eating the same meals every week. Well done Waitrose.


I have struggled to find an appropriate…

I have struggled to find an appropriate site on which to review Waitrose recipes so have decided to leave my comments here
I am absolutely amazed at the very poor quality of the recipes suggested I have only ever saved one which I thought warranted repeating. Whoever supervise the selection and testing of these recipes does not deserve the position and knows very little about cooking or just feels it it an easy option to select Waitrose ingredients and compile a very mediocre meal


BEWARE!! Wool packaging is infested with moths!

Meals were generally good though on several occasions the supplied ingredients were either missing or supplied in inadequate amounts for the recipe.

However, a more serious issue has been the discovery that the wool packaging in which the chilled ingredients were supplied, and which we were re-cycling as insulation, pushed into cracks between the walls and wooden beams around around an oak-framed dining room, was riddled with moth larvae which have eaten holes in our brand new wool carpets! Other users beware!!

Although Woolcool has amazing insulative properties and is widely used for insulation in construction, due to the fact that the liners are primarily used for packaging and not in buildings, Woolcool is not treated with fire retardant or pesticides nor does it have any building regulation certificates. For these reasons, we do not recommend re-using Woolcool in construction/building applications.

Moths are attracted to wool and thrive in warm, dark and undisturbed environments such as cracks and crevices. They seek quiet and little used areas. All Woolcool wool is washed and scoured to ISO standards and then packed into MDPE Food Grade Liners to protect from any outside contamination. Once removed from the liner bag and placed in a warm environment, as it's 100% pure wool, it will have the potential to attract moths over a period of time.

50% Discount = No delivery?

After taking advantage of 50%discount for 2meals Ipaid and arranaged a delivery for14 January. It didn't arrive.
I the read online an apology for a packing problem. But why didn't Waitrose let us know via email or text

I was looking forward to my Monday meal. At nearly 70 and working full time I do plan my meals.
Will I try again not sure.
We expect better from Waitrose. Stars difficult as there was no service or communication. So rude for no communication

Poor service

I have been ordering weekly recipe boxes from Waitrose but today my order didn't arrive. There was not even a note from the driver saying that they couldn't deliver the box. We were relying on Waitrose to deliver the box as we didn't plan our meals for the next few days. I like Waitrose products but because of the disappointing service I will be cancelling my weekly subscription.

Great Fresh Food delivered to your door!

we've been having cookwell for almost a year now and weve never been disappointed with them. Great affordable meals to suit everyone and very quick to make.!

The only downside I would say about this is the recipes get abit boring being the same thing and in the summer if the meals are not delivered first thing some of the produce tends to have gone off or crushed..

But apart from that easy freshly prepared meals!

ALERT for any allergy sufferers!

ALERT for any allergy sufferers - my baby recently had a horrendous reaction to an undeclared allergen in one of these meals (Miso chicken - didn't list gluten or soya as allergens contained in the Miso Sauce). They have promised a full review of the procedures but I would still advise customers to double check EVERY ingredient and not just trust the allergens listed. This will involve contacting the Cook Well team to find what brand they're using for various ingredients.
Apart from poisoning my 10 month old, the meals we have had have been easy to cook and well portioned.

We also put a notice on the home page of our website, and informed the Food Standards Agency to ensure they felt our actions were sufficient.

All Cook Well recipes have since been re-checked to ensure the correct allergen labelling, and we have enhanced our checking procedures with a further assurance on all recipes, with two technologists now signing off all ingredients.

fantastic!!! amazing meal ideas, delicious, fresh ingredients that I wouldn't think of using myself. the b best thing is, it just makes cooking in the evening so so so much easier and affordable at the same time. Really and truly disappointed

Really and truly disappointed, my order just didn't turn up!!!!! Not even notified, good job Asda is just round the corner. Waste of my time. Certainly would not bother again.

Doesn't live up to expectations or marketing

Doesn't really compare to Gousto or Hello Fresh. Recipe choice is pretty limited, and even then pretty repetitious within a single week. Too high a proportion of spicy eastern food which is not to our taste.

What's more, there are mistakes in the recipes (eg it says basil but they give parsley) that don't ever get corrected despite being reported. The packaging is sometimes sloppy leading to damaged food packs and damaged food.

These foods are supplied fresh and one…

These foods are supplied fresh and one should realize there are certain contents of the orders that cannot be frozen and obviously due to this reason the meals should be eaten within the four days or the quality would deteriorate if left longer.
They are very tasty and easy to cook with the instructions.
I have no complaints.

Over rated and underwhelming.

I found that the food was often out of date, the meals had to be cooked within a couple of days of receiving the packs, which ultimately took away all flexibility for meals.
The veg would be wilted and the herbs would be black.
I called twice for them to remedy the situation, however no change came and I cancelled my orders.

The best of the three I have tried…

The best of the three I have tried (Gousto and Hello Fresh). Has been a life saver for me over last few months. Live in rural N Yorks. No local shop. Partner been v.ill and have little time for shopping and working out tasty meals. Delivery excellent. Recipes can be a bit misleading at times, but not really a problem as enjoy cooking. Quantities are generous and many times frozen left overs. Ingredients are good quality. It would be good to have a few pudding choices.

This really should be better —-but…

This really should be better —-but Waitrose just isn't getting it right with the recipe boxes. I am a devoted Waitrose customer, but have been truly disappointed with CookWell. On the surface it looks great and far exceeds other box schemes such as Gousto even though more expensive. But just doesn't deliver. Instead of cooking the third meal this week, I have frozen the chicken and we're going out. So frustrating because the recipes are misrepresented in the photo, there is way too much food waste, and mistakes in the cooking instructions. Recipe box schemes should eliminate stress and food waste but CookWell does neither! I have used Gousto for over a year and was very happy but was delighted to see that Waitrose was offering similar and, as a Waitrose customer, I immediately switched ... but what a mistake that was.

Good recipes/different but execution is poor

Good recipes/different but execution is poor. Contents often damaged/going rotten. Have complained each time this occurs, customer service is good but it keeps happening. Had. 3 month break hoping problems resolved but latest box fish container damaged and contents loose in delivery box. Frustrating as it could be good.
